Talk:Main Page

From Alfred Hitchcock Wiki

HDS- Maybe if possible we could have scans of some posters leik there was one for juno and the paycock. on the main film page..

[Davey P] No problem - I think I've got poster scans for most films, so I'll start adding them soon.

HDS- Will you be having te ratings for each dvds again? on the films page? i am not sure how you will be able to do this, maybe with stars..

[Davey P] Sure will - I just need to write a MediaWiki extension to do handle the voting system.

HDS- I wonder if theres a way that we could find out the day of which the movies came out.. im pretty sure we could get the one from Lifeboat, by looking at the advertisement section of pictures on the DVD... but it would be cool to have the dates, even if its diff countries and diff dates, but to have the movie on te day it came out in the section "On this day in hitchcock history"... but i think it would be hard to get the dates.

[Davey P] I've managed to get a few release dates from the IMDB web site, and I've included them in the "On this day". For example, tomorrow (21/Jun/2006) it'll be 34 years since "Frenzy" was released in the US!

HDS- Im wondering if in the future, you plan on having the VHS that were released... I could most deffinatly help you with that as I collect them, thow my collection is only the beginning. I figured it is easyer to collect those which are now not being made anymore. and being sold cheaply. I think that the Universal tapes would be the most easy to do. I own both 1997 releases (Psycho & Vertigo, both in widescreen and stereo for the first time), as well as some 1985-86 MCA Home Video tapes, which were the first tapes released of hitchcock films...

HDS-im not sure if this is a good idea but we could have the name of all the movies in different laguages, thow it would take up some space. i found some for french language on wikipedia. On Here

[Davey P] That's a good idea -- it's possible to redirections, so Une Femme Disparaît (1938) takes you to The Lady Vanishes (1938). I've now added the French titles to all the films up to 1939, and will do the rest tonight!

I have another idea, how bout in the booklet/insert section we should state if it comes with a slip on cover for the box. as a lot of people like that. im not sure if you have it somewhere thow.. btu if not i think its a good idea.

Sir Hitchcock

I think that somewhere should be a category on the knighting of Hitchcock... its often forgotten, however it should be noted that this man was great enough to reach that level. -HDS
