Blackmail (1929) - silent version

Introduction

"Blackmail" was initially shot as a silent film, before Hitchcock was given the go-ahead to add sound. He subsequently reshot large portions of the film to create the more familiar "sound" version, and both versions were released theatrically.

This less commonly seen "silent" version of the film is available on DVD.
