Frederick Stafford was an Australian-born actor.
Stafford was leading man in European spy-movies. Alfred Hitchcock engaged him in 1968 to play the leading role in "Topaz". He married Austrian actress Marianne Hold. Five years after "Topaz" he starred beside his daughter from Hitchcock's movie, French actress Claude Jade, in the Italian thriller "La ragazza di Via Condotti" (1973).
He died in 1979 in a plane crash.
