Biography
George S. Barnes was an American cinematographer from the era of silent films to the early 1950s. Over the course of his life, he was nominated for an Academy Award five times, though he only won once in 1940 for his work on the Alfred Hitchcock film "Rebecca". He died at the age of 60 in Los Angeles, California after having worked on at least 142 films.
