NEW BRITISH FILMS

Two new British films now in the course of production are A Shilling for Candles, based on Miss Josephine Tey's novel, and Gangway. The first film is being directed by Mr. Alfred Hitchcock, with Miss Nova Pilbeam and Mr. Derek de Marney in the leading parts, and the second picture is being made under the direction of Mr. Sonnie Hale, with Miss Jessie Matthews as the principle performer. A documentary film of life in Yorkshire villages and industrial centres will be made in the near future by Gaumont-British Instructional.
