Themes - taboo: sex
From Alfred Hitchcock Wiki
Hitchcock frequently used sexual innuendo, suggestion and imagery in his films. In his later films, partly due to relaxation in film censorship, the references to sex became more graphic.
- Sabotage (1936) - Charles Hawtrey discussing the sex life of oysters
- Rear Window (1954) - Lisa's glamorous nightdress ("a preview of coming attractions")
- North by Northwest (1959) - Eve never "makes love on an empty stomach" and is a "big girl" (in all the right places!), and the train disappearing into the tunnel at the end of the film
- Frenzy (1972) - the rape and murder of Brenda
- Family Plot (1976) - Harriet's illegitimate child and George's crystal balls
