Biography

Isabel Jeans was a distinguished English stage and film actress.

She was an elegant and courtly character actress who led a long and distinguished stage career. She played a couple of major roles in two Hitchcock silents, "Downhill" (1927) and "Easy Virtue" (1928), before playing a number of grande dames in Hollywood films, such as "Suspicion" (1941) and "Gigi" (1958).
